You are my favorite! I can’t believe you stole my shirt! Mom!!! He’s bugging me. Mom, he keeps taking my stuff! And on and on it goes.

While at odds and quarrelsome – siblings are a gift! They can be your protector – they look out for you and have your back – whether you realize it or not! They want the best for you and want to shield you from hard things!

When you are young, perhaps you don’t see your siblings’ value, but as you get older and go through difficulties, you will see their desire to see you succeed.

They are the person in your corner cheering you on! Making sure the school bully isn’t bugging you. Or they go the extra mile and stick out their neck to keep you safe.

If you are lucky enough to have a great sibling – tell them! Text, call, or write and let them know how much they mean to you on this particular day! How you appreciate all they do for you -or being there for you, for having someone to share life with – both the positive and negative.

As someone who lost her parents early in life – I immensely value my siblings. They have helped me navigate some of life’s most problematic points. I am grateful to have them in my life!
