You are an entrepreneur; you may be the boss over many – but how do you treat your employees?
Are they at your disposal? Do you keep them longer hours than needed because of the almighty dollar?
Do you treat your employees fairly and well? Do you lead by example? Or are you boneheaded and near-sighted so much so that you never listen to anyone else? Once upon a time, this type of working environment would be typical. But those days are bygones. Employees want to work for an intelligent, empathetic, and encouraging boss who sees and acknowledges the employee’s value.
Previously in this chapter, God says to “care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly – not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.”
Wow, those are some pretty compelling words on how to be a good leader! Take note and apply these ideas and I’m sure you will be impressed with the results.
Suppose you are lucky enough to work for or are this kind of boss already, good for you! It is refreshing to work for a place that values you as a person and not just what you bring in skills and knowledge.
