On Profit and Poverty

“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”

Proverbs‬ ‭21:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Well, isn’t this quote a gem. I should actually frame this one for my wall in my imaginary office. I think I might be the queen of haste. A lot of the times I don’t care if something is ready or complete or timely. I see, I want, I do. It has ruined my relationships, mental health, and projects.

Any of my fellow entrepreneurs face the same problem? We say yes to everything, see anything cool and want to do it, and generally just pile way too much on our plate. I think I read in one of my project management textbooks that you can plan now or spend twice the time fixing problems later. Time you spend planning is time you don’t have to spend struggling.

As we go into our projects today, I pray that you and I can keep this in mind. Sometimes God’s plans take thousands of years; maybe I can take more than a few minutes. H

What did you think? Do you agree or disagree with the ideas presented above?
